Looking Back Looking Forward
What I found exciting and fun last year was how the year 7’s from 2015 got to go on amazing trips like Fiafia, Rainbows End, Parakai and much more, hopefully we get to go on more trips this year. In the year of 2015 I gained a lot of knowledge from all my teachers, in maths reading and writing.
What I valued most about last year was getting to know some of the year 8’s more better. This year (2016) I am looking forward to all the new sports and meeting a lot of new teachers. My goals for 2016 are to join a lot of sports and to get all my school work done.

2015 Reflection
This year I was in room 2 with the amazing Miss Clark and it was really fun. The most satisfying thing for me this year was hanging out with all my friends and the most difficult thing was completing my school work, but overall I would rate myself a nine why because I'm awesome.
The way I contributed to team 5 is that I bought a 2 dollar sausage sizzle that went to the year 8 camp. If I were to change anything about me I’d change nothing because I'm awesome. Two things I’d want my 2016 teacher to know about me is that I am struggling in maths and that I love art.
Maths is the where I struggle so it is probably the subject I need help in and to help him or her see that I would show them how much more literacy task there are on my blog than maths but they should already know that. The best thing that has happened to me all year is how I keep finding money on the playground.
This year was incredible and I can’t wait to be year eight. Hopefully we get to go on amazing trips like how we went to Polyfest and Rainbows End it was really fun.

Google Cardboards
While the year 8’s were at Tamaki College for tech, the year 7 students were having a lot of fun visiting places like India, Buckingham Palace, the Colosseum and much more.
Today some of the year 7 students used google cardboards for the first time. Google Cardboard is a virtual reality platform that was developed by google and was released in 2014. It was created by two very intelligent men whose names are David Coz and Damien Henry, they are google engineers from the Google Culture Institute in Paris.
It was incredible, we had even search a part of outer space we saw africa, the moon and millions of bright shining stars. We had even gone to the tallest building in the world that was in Dubai and we also went to Buckingham Palace and The Royal Mall which we learnt has 1,514 doors and 760 windows that have to we polished every week.
My favourite place was the deep blue sea where I saw the amazing bullshark who is said to be the most aggressive sea creature in the shark department even more aggressive than the great white, I also saw the giant whale shark it was so fun and did you know that the whale shark can grow up to 20 m in length - up to 20 tonnes.
It wasn’t the first time I had used this google product before, I use this incredible product when the year 7 & 8 extension group went to the GEGNZ which stands for (Google Education Groups In New Zealand). We went there to learn how other people use Google and if they use google apps for different purposes.
I had so much fun with the google cardboards and I hope I get to use it another time.

My Trip to Taupo
Last week on Friday the 4th of September my parents took me to Taupo so I could compete in a rugby tournament.
After an exhausting five hour drive my parents and I had finally made it to Taupo, a town known for its Geothermal activity in other words it smells of rotten eggs. I was so bored I couldn’t wait to get out of the car to reach my destination which was the All Seasons Holiday Kiwi Park as my legs were aching due to the lack of space in the car.
Half an hour later we had finished getting settled in and I went for a little tour around the amazing resort. there I saw a park, a kitchen, a thermal pool and a lot more. When I saw the kitchen it made my stomach growl like a lion I was so hungry I could eat a whole cow. The only bad thing was that I wasn’t aloud to eat because I had to stay under the weight limit of 55 kg's and I had to weigh at 6:00pm.
At 6:00pm the team and I took about a 10 minute drive down and gathered at the Owen Delany Park where we had to weighed in. When it was my turn to weigh I was so concerned, just the thought of me not making it was so nerve racking. Luckily I only ate 3 lollies and I weighed in at 54.7 kg’s and I was allowed to play for the under twelve's Grammer Tech team, after we that everyone went back to their hotels to rest for the next day.
The very next morning I got ready and my parents and I drove down to the park where we would play our first game. We played 3 games and lost one we played against teams like Marist North Harbour, Wai Kanai Coastal and a lot more. After a long day of playing rugby, we won two and lost one, I was very tired and hungry when I went home I ate some Mcdonald's, Chicken, Ice, Lollies, Chocolate and loads more, and after that I rested for another day.
On Sunday we played three games again and it was amazing everyone played incredibly awesome but in the end my team (Grammar Tech Under 12) ended up winning our grades Cup. In the final we played against Carlton Grammar it was like we were playing for our lives. Everyone was doing their job which was tackling, running up hard and strong, and it was so amazing.
But that wasn’t the exciting part the most exciting part was when the Referee called full time and the score was 17 to 12 to us. We jump up into the air while Grammar Carlton started crying with anger on their face, I was so happy I couldn’t explain it. Everyone was so happy and relieved because it was finally over.
So at the end the most exciting part for me was winning and after that we traveled back to Glen Innes to see the family.
